Alpaca Experience
If getting up close and personal to beautiful alpacas is on your list of things to do then you have arrived in the right place. Our wonderful alpaca experience lasts around 90 minutes. We always start with a safety briefing where we will go through all the important stuff, and the ‘do’s & the don'ts' to ensure that your meet & greet is as safe and enjoyable as possible.
We will introduce you to our herd of alpaca ladies where you will have the time to get to know them and hand feed them. They all have very different personalities and range from under 1 year old to 18 years old. This years babies are due to be born during June, so exciting times ahead. One thing you can be assured of is that they are very calming and most definitely fun to be around. Everything is dependent on our beautiful alpacas and how they feel on the day as animal welfare is our main priority. Sometimes the alpacas like to play, other times they like to chillout. What we say is “what the alpacas want, the alpacas get”. Whatever they choose you can be assured that you will be able to spend plenty of time with them and take those all-important photos and selfies. During your experience we will share our alpaca knowledge and answer any questions you may have. We love it when you go home with a head full of alpaca facts!
Whilst you are visiting the farm you will also be able to meet our saddleback pigs and depending on what time your visit is you may be able to feed them their tea. Children visiting will also be able to complete our 'Become an expert in Alpacas' quiz and if under 5's are present we have alpaca colouring & worksheets to complete whilst the adults relax a little in our outside seating area. Here you can enjoy a view of the stunning Welsh countryside, or if you wish you can chillout in the cabin. Whatever you decide is fine by us. We are never in a rush, we just want everyone to enjoy our alpacas and our little farm as much as we do.
Birthday bookings are welcome and we offer party bags and extras at the checkout stage of booking.
Here at Y Fferm Fach we pride ourselves on giving our visitors the very best experience that we possibly can. Once your alpaca experience is complete you’ll be able to return to our cabin and checkout our alpaca souvenirs before your departure.
In the summer cold drinks and snacks are available to purchase at the cabin.
